U.K. vote to leave EU Union.  only England has voted to leave the EU.  Scotland voted to stay in the EU.  Prime Minister resigns.  Negotiations will take 2 years, but a reversal is very unlikely. Global markets sell off shortly after initial voting results.

Prayers and condolences to the families of the victims.

It amazes me that someone will automatically state that if someone had a gun there would be less victims. First stupid part of that statement is "less victims". Secondly, many of these comments come from people that don't have a lot of experience in firing a weapon or have never been in a fire fight. Just because you have a gun doesn't mean you would be successful in stopping someone intent in killing a group of people. Even policemen who have protective gear and trained in these situations are sometimes wounded or killed. Third, these people automatically speak out against gun control and laws. The aim in establishing good gun control laws is to eliminate the ability of such incidents from taking place. People should be able to go to places without the need to be armed or the worry of such incidents occurring.

It took 11 police officers firing their weapons to take down this shooter. So 1 good man with a gun would have been more effective (sarcasm).

Victims of Orlando Shooting

Temple Terrace police have arrested a man who they say robbed a woman outside a post office on Tuesday.

Ronald N. Ball III, 22, faces charges of armed robbery with a firearm, armed burglary and fraudulent use of a credit card. Ball approached a woman as she was getting out of her car in front of the post office in the 8700 block of N. 56th Street in Temple Terrace, police say. He pulled a handgun and demanded money, police said.

Ball left with the woman’s purse and used her credit cards at several stores throughout Temple Terrace, police said.

Someone who saw new accounts of the crime recognized Ball and called police. Ball was arrested Friday.

A young girl was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday night at 11:00 pm at 6002 Laketree please tell your neighbors to be careful. Two guys in hoodies.

Also there have been some people suspected of dealing drugs at the end of Laketree Lane and also on the bridge.  Everyone keep an eye out and call TT police non emergency if they see anything 989-7111.

Initial reports indicated both sides of the Causeway would be shut down to allow Bayflite to transport a patient. However, westbound lanes are currently open, although motorists are advised to find alternate routes for the "foreseeable future." Eastbound traffic remains closed and is being diverted at McMullen Booth Road. The crash happened on the Clearwater side of the Causeway, near the small or first bridge. One patient is being taken to St. Joseph's Hospital.

The first case of ebola breakout was discovered many years ago. It was determined that they had contracted the virus from monkeys, which they would kill for food. The ebola was restricted to the Congo and was a cyclical event. Due to the poor water and food sources the villagers used alternative protein sources such as monkeys. The source of ebola can be isolated to primates, apes and bats. Because of the outbreak in the new regions, the question of whether the climate changes has caused species such as the bats or monkeys to migrate to these other areas.

A USF professor says you have a better chance of getting killed by a wrong-way driver than catching Ebola.

Facts about ebola:

  1. Ebola only spreads when people are sick
  2.  Symptoms usually appear 8-10 days after infection
  3. After 21 days, if an exposed person does not develop symptoms, they will not become sick with Ebola.
  4. Unlike the flu and measles, Ebola does not spread through the air.
  5. Ebola isn't airborne, and it doesn't spread by water.
  6. Body fluids have to come in contact with your eyes, nose, mouth or broken skin, like a cut, wound or abrasion
  7. Body fluids include saliva, mucus, vomit, feces, sweat, tears, breast milk, urine, and semen.
  8. There's no evidence of that. But some bats and monkeys are considered carriers
  9. As far as body fluids with ebola virus on surfaces, "When it dries, it dies"

Picture is of the real Abbey in this story

Some of you may know that our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month (8/23/2006). The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her.

She dictated and I wrote:

     Dear God,

Will you please take special care of our dog, Abbey? She died yesterday and is heaven. We miss her very much. We are happy that you let us have her as our dog even though she got sick. I hope that you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and swim before she got sick. I am sending some pictures of her so that when you see her in heaven you will know she is our special dog. But I really do miss her.

     Meredith Claire

P.S.: Mommy wrote the words after Mer told them to her

We put that in an envelope with 2 pictures of Abbey, and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Mer stuck some stamps on the front (because, as she said, it may take lots of stamps to get a letter all the way to heaven) and that afternoon I let her drop it into the letter box at the post office.

For a few days, she would ask if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, for Labor Day, we took the kids to Austin to a natural history museum. When we got back, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch. Curious, I went to look at it. It had a gold star card on the front and said "To: Mer" in an unfamiliar hand.

Meredith took it in and opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers, When a Pet Dies. Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God, in its opened envelope (which was marked 'Return to Sender: Insufficient address'). On the opposite page, one of the pictures of Abbey was taped under the words "For Meredith." We turned to the back cover, and there was the other picture of Abbey, and this handwritten note on pink paper:

Dear Mer, I know that you will be happy to know that Abbey arrived safely and soundly in Heaven! Having the pictures you sent to me was such a big help. I recognized Abbey right away.

You know, Meredith, she isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me — just like she stays in your heart — young and running and playing. Abbey loved being your dog, you know. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets! — so I can't keep your beautiful letter. I am sending it to you with the pictures so that you will have this book to keep and remember Abbey.

One of my angels is taking care of this for me. I hope the little book helps.

Thank you for the beautiful letter. Thank your mother for sending it. What a wonderful mother you have! I picked her especially for you.

I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I am in heaven and wherever there is love.

God, and the special angel who wrote this after God told her the words.

Tampa, Florida (AP) -- For the first time in four years some Citizens insurance customers will see their rates reduced. The board for Citizens Property Insurance voted Wednesday to lower rates by an average of 3.2 percent for single family homeowners in 2015. The state-created insurer says that nearly 70 percent of those with homeowner policies should see some sort of decrease. Citizens, which has more than 928,000 policyholders, has raised its rates for four straight years. The decision to lower rates, which still must be approved by state regulators, is coming during an election year. But company officials maintain several factors have diminished the need for rate hikes next year. The state has not been hit with a hurricane since 2005. Some customers, including those who live near the coast, will still pay more in the coming year.
